TOP TIPS On Selling Your Horse

Selling your horse can be emotional & frustrating - the process presents a lot of hoops to jump through to find the right home for your horse.

When thinking about marketing your horse here’s a few tips that will set up a horse's future and sale to be successful:

RIDEABILITY

The quality of training is important. If your horse is enjoyable to ride & handle to the average equestrian, then you increase your odds of finding your horse their perfect match.

PRESENT A HEALTHY, WELL-MANAGED HORSE

Your horse should have a healthy body score with recent and well-shod hooves, and up to date on their annual wellness care such as deworming, vaccines and dental. Knowledgeable buyers will notice signs of oversight.

(PRE)PREPURCHASE YOUR HORSE

A prospective buyer's prepurchase exam should not be a nail biter! Clinically know ahead of time if your horse is sound. Invest in an exam with a knowledgeable lameness vet specialist before you market your horse, and address any potential issues that might prevent your horse from passing a pre-purchase exam with flying colors.

HISTORY

Every horse has a history. For better or worse. Be upfront to give your horse the best opportunity to move on to a loving, caring home.

MARKETING

Every sales horse should be presented looking like a million bucks, ready to enter the show ring. Turn-out & advertising within a network of professionals helps find the best home for your horse.
